Using
the team page editor is quite easy, and very similar to applications
such as Microsoft Word or writing an email. This system will provide
parents and players with team updates and news quickly and effectively.
At the start of the season, team managers and head coaches should have
been given a set of login credentials which allow access to the editor.
By clicking the link above, you will gain access to the login screen,
where using the username and password given (changeable on request) can
be used.
DEMO
On this page is a readout which will explain the use of the editor.
Login with the username and password both as 'test'.
Let me know what you think of it,
and what parts you had problems with. This will help me in making it easier to use.
The Main Interface
At the top right of the screen is a basic menu consisting of
'home', 'upload', 'help', and 'logout'. By clicking 'help' you will see
a pop-up window outling basic functions in the editor window. By
clicking 'upload', a pop-up window will show, allowing you to upload
documents and images. In the main part of the page, there are two
drop-down menus; a folder chooser on the left, and a file opener on the
right. In most cases, it won't be necessary to change folders. The file
list will show you pages you are allowed to edit.
Editing Pages
By selecting a page in the drop-down menu, the main part of the
interface will change to show the editors. The drop-down list is
organized into 'Snippets' and 'Whole Pages'. 'Snippets' are sections of
a page that is editable. For example, if you wanted to change the
team's nickname, there is a snippet in the editor just for that. Each
snippet is separated into it's own box with a toolbar. The toolbar is
very similar to that of Microsoft Word's. The pages listed in the file
list are named using shortform. For example, Novice B House #2 would be
'nbh2.html' in the drop-down menu. Accordingly, Atom B Rep would be
'abr.html'.
Note; Minor Midget B Rep is named minmbr.html and Major Midget B Rep is majmbr.html
The
editor itself may take a while to load fully, depending on your
internet connection speed. Dial-up is not recommended, unless you have
a lot of patience :) It hasn't been tested on dial-up as of yet. Once
the editor has loaded, each snippet is viewable in order of how they
appear on the team page. At the top there is a Save option, and a
Preview button to see changes without commiting them. Once a page is
saved, it should be viewable shortly from the Coaches & Teams page
on sgmha.com.
Team Photos
To add a team photo to your team's page, send it to clearshot@gmail.com and it will be added shortly. Please be sure to mention what team is in the photo.
